Off Road Insurance
If you drive 4×4 car, you may want to have off road insurance, which covers green laning and off road driving.
After all wilderness driving is the reason you choose 4×4 over classic car, and why wouldn’t you insure your 4wd in case any accidents happen there. Classic insurances often don’t cover off road driving, so be sure that yours will. Some companies include NCB offers. NCB stands for no claims bonus, and rewards safe drivers who hadn’t had an accident over years.
Typical off road vehicles are 4×4 cars, ex-military vehicles, Q plated vehicles, which may be modified or have many accessories you need for rough terrain driving. This may add to insurance premium or even lower it (in case of safety or security modifications), but as with all insurances you can get extra discounts for:
- female drivers
- limited mileage
- engine capacity
- elderly drivers
- location
- other insurances at the same company (ie. car, house, personal…)
Many 4×4 cars lovers tend to be members of owner clubs and other 4WD enhusiasts clubs and they often get dicounts from insurance companies. If you are not a part of one, you should consider joining one. Beside extra discount, which can go up to 15%, you will learn more about your vehicle and how to take better care of it.
